Pledge to Clients: I was born in Cedar Falls, Iowa. My family moved to a farm in Michigan when I was 10. After graduating from High School, I studied electrical engineering at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana and graduated with a BSEE. Shortly after graduation, I moved to Chicago, Illinois to pursue a career in Industrial Electronics and Factory Automation. I migrated to Milwaukee Wisconsin a few years later where I became President of a manufacturer of computer controlled flame and plasma cutting machines. I went into business for myself in 1975 in the new field of Industrial Robotics. I pursued this career path until my retirement in 2001. My work carried me to virtually all parts of the US, Scandinavia and Germany. When I retired, my wife Susie and I decided to look for a place to live where the air was pure and the scenery was beautiful. We discovered the Northern Panhandle of Idaho on an Idaho PBS video aerial tour of the state. When we came to see the area for ourselves, we were struck not only by the incredible beauty of the area but also the extreme kindness and friendliness of the people who lived here. We saw children swinging on a tire swing over the Sand Creek and dropping off into the water. It was like stepping back in time several decades. Needless to say, we sold our home in Wisconsin and moved here with our six dogs a few months later. Transporting 6 dogs nearly 2000 miles in a used motor home was an adventure to say the least. My wife still refers to the trip as “Three days and three nights in the belly of a motor home”. When the dogs disembarked the motor home at the base of our new driveway on Upper Gold Creek Rd., they ran to the top of the driveway and five minutes later came running back down with ear-to-ear smiles on their faces. They haven’t stopped smiling since. When we put our motor home on the lot of the local RV dealer for sale, the woman behind the counter told me, “Remember, Jon , in Sandpoint God is a local call” I think she was right! I look forward to having the privilege of helping you find your special place in this slice of Paradise.
